As with Standalone Complex' previous releases, Toska made me feel heavily violated. This is an anomaly; a piece of heavy music that should not work as well or seem as cohesive and, somehow, logical as it does. Sonically, this is the epitome of a barbaric and extremely drunk horde bludgeoning you with hot flatirons for 25 minutes. MSRBLFLR's blend of grind, death metal, black metal, and some very flavourful surprises not only stands to reason, but it uncompromisingly addictive. Offensively good.
